Good on you Jean!
You know I hate Jean Chretien and the Liberal Party - haven’t been able to stand them since Pierre gave BC the finger 
but I have to applaud Chretien for his comments last week and again yesterday that evil isn’t the only cause of terrorism. He rightly pointed the finger at poverty, failed states and the gap between the standards of living and expectations in the west and 3rd world countries.

UNITED NATIONS — Prime Minister Jean Chretien told the United Nations yesterday that poverty and failed states promote terrorism, repeating controversial remarks that brought a storm of criticism last week.
Mr. Chretien later told reporters he’s glad he made his comments about the reasons, besides “evil,” that explain the terrorist attacks of last Sept. 11….Canada.com

I was overly surprised with that. The fact that it was a Canadian Prime Minister that said it was the main shock. Us, a country that has been known to bow and grovel at any work the US says, finally has it’s own words, and they’re not in praise. I love it.
