Making time
Winter in Rossland is not far off. We are about a month, maybe less, away from our first snowfall and two month away from when it will start to accumulate. So I’m trying to get out on the trails as much as possible, especially on the weekends when I have enough daylight to walk the longer trails.
For all my adoring fans here’s a picture of me taken today on my hike
Last weekend when I was out taking shots of fungi and boring you to tears with my lecture on them I ran across some really interesting ones that I tried to take shots of but they just didn’t turn out. Today I brought my tripod along (thus the self picture above) went back and took some new shots of them - be prepared to be bored again
The hike today was along the KC ridge trail then doubling back the long way over the advance Techno Grind trail. It is one of my favourite walks as it offers a great workout as well as a variety of scenery, from dark wet forest trails to high rocky outcroppings and everything in between. Along the way there are always interesting views if you stop long enough to look. But you have to look.

I rather like the nature ones myself.
I should go find the world’s largest fungi in Texas and take pics of it. But they won’t let it out of DC.
