The World’s on Fire

3 October, 2004 (11:04) | Economics, Media, Political, Society

The next time you turn on MTV or MuchMusic and you get all excited about some new music video go view Sarah McLachlan’s World On Fire and consider how many better things the $150,000, or more , that new music video you’re drooling over cost could have been spent on . Then see what Mclachlan and her friends did spend it on. The entertainment industry is a cesspool wasted money, a prime example of what is wrong with western society. It is an industry in which excess is treated as a desired virtue not as a venal sin and it spreads that message throughout society. McLachlan is to be congratulated for the difference she made with this effort.
