snowshoeing

26 December, 2004 (16:44) | Hiking, Photography

Over the past 36 hours we got 9 inches (30cm) of fresh snow so I decided to go snowshoeing today. What a workout. Unfortunately I forgot to take a water bottle with me so about half way through the trail I was on I decided to head back because I was getting very thirsty. but I did get a chance to try out the new goggles the Brian, Lora and the kids gave me for xmas

I was finding hiking in the snow a problem this year. I guess my eyes are getting more sensitive as glare off the snow was really beginning to affect me. Also if it was snowing while hiking I always had a problem with my glasses getting covered with snow and fogging up. These goggles are specifically designed to fit over glasses and work great.

There was a light fog today which left everything with a somewhat surreal quality.

Beautiful photograph, Doug. I’m glad you got out to enjoy the snow. :)
