Settling in for a long winter’s nap

17 January, 2005 (16:27) | Photography, Rossland

It has been extremely cold here all weekend. Cold enough that snowshoeing was right off he activities menu while reading was definitely on. Last night it started to warm up and so of course the snow really started falling. Here’s a couple of views from my kitchen window. Not only is the snow overhanging from the eaves above but it is piling up on the porch roof below as well (I’m on the second floor).

Of course it will, as usual, probably let go somewhere around three in the morning and wake everyone in the house up. Tons (literally) of snow sliding off a corrugated steel roof sounds like a freight train in full throttle going through your room.
