A New Haberdasher Please
George W. Bush’s little dictatorship is slowly falling apart. A recent CNN poll showed 42% approving his job performance and 49% disapproving. Even more important is his, and the GOP senate’s, miscalculation over the public’s backing of their stance on Terri Schiavo. Poll after poll has shown a large majority outraged that the government would step in.
In his own party he’s meeting resistance from congress over his Social Security reforms as the smart GOP congress critters, seeing the way the public has started to tear the fabric of the plan to pieces, are starting to turn away from him and question the SS reform plan (obviously with their eyes on re-election hopes).
Now we see today that 59 ex diplomats, many of them die hard GOP appointees under Nixon, Reagan and Bush Sr., are calling on Bush to cancel the appointment of John R. Bolton to the role of the US ambassador to the UN.
While Bush et. al wait for the second coming to “save” Terri Schiavo perhaps someone will send out for a new haberdasher. Apparantly the emperor needs some clothes.
