Where’s the ark

23 May, 2006 (18:04) | Personal, Photography

A combination of warmer than usual weather and a lot of rain has led to some flooding in these parts. Not here in rossland as I’m on a very steep mountain side about 4000 ft above sea level and if it ever floods here 90% of the planet will be under water, but out Diane’s way in Salmo the creeks and rivers are rising and one friend has been fighting off a flood.

The creek (Erie Creek) in this shot is a good 4 or 5 feet above normal. This is one you could normally wade across

It’s very humid. The heat and the rain are causing a lot of mist on the waters.

The Salmo River is very high. Most of the area in this shot is normally dry

This shot is just about 25 degrees to the right of the last one. The main channel of the river is on the other side of those logs.
