Democracy
If you are a Canadian and you are as offended as I am by the continued exclusion of the Green Party from the national election debates, whether you would vote for the or not, then please sign this petition.
If you have to ask why this is important I don’t know why you are reading this blog. Given the trouble the planet is in with global warming, environmental degradation, pollution, over population, and more, and given the reluctance of established political parties to do any thing about it other than deny the problem or mouth platitudes designed to get them re-elected without angering their corporate sponsors I’d say it is about time to get some others in power who are completely motivated to take action on these problems. People who will put the health of the planet ahead of the health of corporations.
As this chart shows the Greens are gaining in popularity at the expense of the Bloc Québécois and the NDP . For the first time ever they have surpassed the Bloc Québécois in popularity and they are just barely behind the NDP. Check out the Angus Reid poll below. Greens at 11%, NDP at 14%. The NDP have traditionally hovered between 16 and 20% and they are always part of the leaders debates. It is unconscionable for the Green Party to be left out of these debates if the NDP and the Bloc are in them.
