Get your inner geek drooling
Anyone want an IBM quad core Intel Xeon server? How about if it comes with a fully dedicated 10Mbps unmetered connection?
RackForce, the company I work for is the first data center anywhere to get these servers from IBM and they are a sweet deal at $299/mo.
For the uninitiated quad core CPUs can process 4 streams of data doing four different tasks at the same time if the software is designed for it. A quad core server will run at up to 4+ times the speed of a single core server of the same GHz rating, so if your CPU is rated at 2GHz then a quad core CPU could be considered an 8GHz processor under the right conditions (databases really make use of this capability). If you are in the market for a very powerful server at an incredible price go check it out
For the engineers in the crowd here is a performance comparison between the Intel Quad Core, Intel Dual Core and AMD Dual Core CPUs

and here is a link to Intel’s site discussing this technology
