Safari - Blah!
So made a version of , big hairy deal. Like we need another browser yet already. No sooner was it released with great fanfare by apple as being the ultimate secure browser than the very next day a serious hole in it is found - ROFLMAO. Well I thought I would try it out anyway to see what it looked like. What a mistake.
This computer is a relatively new Dell Latitude D620 Core 2 Duo with 1 GB RAM, Windows XP SP2 with all updates and a good nVidia graphics card. It should have no problems with displaying anything. Well here’s a screen shot of what I got after running Safari

Notice anything missing? Yup - no menus - none at all. Further if you try and type in the address bar it won’t let you. If you run the mouse over the blank areas where you would expect menus to be something clickable appear but all graphics and/or text to let you know what you are clicking on are missing. If you click on that “bug” or whatever it is to the left of the address bar it freezes Safari up to the point where it must be terminated through Windows Task Manager. What a .

Hm. Apparently the bracket police didn’t like my last post. (or they’re running Safari on Windows too)
I’m a hard-core Mac user and I don’t use Safari - Firefox is the weapon of choice.
Even Wired is running this story! WOOT!!!! You scooped Wired!!!

I’ll second Mr Wray; Firefox for preference, although I’m also partial to OmniWeb on the Mac, or Flock on Windows or Mac. Of course, Opera is always impressive on any platform, including Mobile and Other Devices…
The point, of course, is use what browser works for you. As long as it doesn’t use a big blue ‘e’ as its icon.
