No tags for this post.It is doubtful that foreign security contractors could be prosecuted under Iraqi law. A directive issued by U.S. occupation authorities in 2004 granted contractors, U.S. troops and many other foreign officials immunity from prosecution under Iraqi law.

The privatisation of security forces means you have men with guns who are not subject to government oversight, neither are they within the military chain of command. They are the dogs of war, jackals living on the carrion that war produces.
The interesting thing is that when Sandline, a mercenary outfit out of South Africa, were hired by various governments to stabilise their nations they found themselves being thrown out by the likes of the US, UK and Australia, this despite the fact that Sandline is seeking to legitimise itself by calling for a mercenary code of conduct. They also only work for legitimate governments.
