Hastert & Frist ? I think, Doug, that the November elections Cafferty is referring to are the November 2004 elections .. and I believe the bill passed, but there’s so much excrement passing under the bridge still that it’s hard to remember all the crap.

One keeps wondering how long things can hold, given that the unraveling continues week after week. We mostly only pay attention to what is on the news for the last three or four days .. everything else is ancient history.

For example .. remember Pakistan, Musharraf and Bhutto .. didn’t think so !

You appear to be right Jon - the comment about Hastert and Frist does date it and it looks like this dated from his show back in 2006 according to Google.

I thought I heard last week that they were trying to bury this in the FISA bill which must be renewed, but having just looked through Google it looks like they slipped that into H.R.6054 the Mililtary Commissions Act of 2006. The Democrats have been rolling over for the GOP going into the election for fear of being labeled soft on national security. The GOP is quite willing to let the FISA bill die and blame it on the GOP if they delay it. Only Senator Dodd has been saying he’s going to filibuster it - and the fucking Democratic leadership is going to apply filibustering rules against their own fucking party member (i.e, you actually have to stand there and speak non-stop) that they won’t apply against the GOP because Reid and Pelosi are too fucking afraid of being labeled soft on terrorism. It’s beyond disgusting. This is the same FISA bill gives the telecom companies total immunity for all the crimes they committed on behalf of the Bush cabal.
