A Significant Advantage

26 January, 2008 (18:04) | Political

Sen. Kerry announced, on January 10, that he is supporting Obama’s campaign. What the MSM has not focussed on is what that really meant. As David Meerman Scott over at Web Inc. Now points out in 2003 pioneered the use of the Internet in political campaigning. Howard raised a lot of money and more importantly, created a vast database of progressive email addresses. When Dean’s campaign collapsed because the conservative controlled media created much ado about nothing (Dean’s yell of celebration), Dean gave that database to for his campaign. Kerry built upon it, adding his own supporters, and now Kerry has turned a listed of millions of people willing to donate money, millions of dollars worth of support, over to Obama. The value of the list is not limited to just raising money though, these are supporters who can bring in more supporters, increasing the value of the list even more. It can be used to get out the vote. It can be used to spread information - get an email and be asked to forward it to everyone you know for example. .

Just a few minutes ago declared the winner in . With less than 20% of the vote counted he was way ahead of Hillary. You have to wonder how much of an effect this list had on those results.
