Disappointment but no surprise here
Stephen Harper’s conservatives really are Bush . They keep taking plays right out of the . In recent years in the US we had the Bush administration stifling and censoring scientists, particularly those involved in environmental sciences as the truth was inconvenient for the neocon corporate agenda. Today we learn that the Harper government is doing the same here in Canada
has “” its , ordering them to refer all media queries to Ottawa where communications officers will help them respond with “approved lines.”
The new policy, which went into force in recent weeks and sent a chill through the department research divisions, is designed to control the department’s media message and ensure there are no “surprises” for Environment Minister John Baird and senior management when they open the newspaper or turn on the television, according to documents obtained by Canwest News Service.
“Just as we have ‘one department, one website’ we should have ‘one department, one voice,’ ” says a PowerPoint presentation from ’s executive management committee that’s been sent to department staff.
Do go read the rest. This is a disgrace. It is a cover up for a corporate run agenda that first made itself known with the Harper rejection of . and his have no environmental other than to undo, wherever possible, what has been achieved before and to stall, stall, stall. They must be removed from power, they endanger all Canadians with their corporate agenda.
We need an election here and we need people to vote for Greens or Liberals. Today I am, once more, ashamed to be a Canadian.
