Slip?
Off and on I was watching the primary returns on CNN tonight and I caught a bit of ’s speech. I found one thing she said very interesting. I’m going to have to paraphrase it as I don’t have any way to record what I see but generally it went something like this “On January 20 next year a new president will be sworn in on the steps of the capitol and he, [slight pause] or she, will be a Democrat”. Like I said it’s a paraphrase so don’t jump on me for getting it wrong. What caught my attention was the “” part (might have been “” but the important part here is the order of the genders). Why did she put the masculine first? Is she, in her mind, already conceding victory to ? It could be nothing or it could be a significant glimpse into her thoughts on the status of her .
