Hillary and Bill
[tag]C&L[/tag] takes [tag]Chris Matthews[/tag] to task today for asking his faux panel of 12 whether Bill hurt [tag]Hillary[/tag]’s campaign by being involved in it. Now if C&L were to say that Matthews is a pathetic mean little twit who should be shunned by anyone with an ounce of decency I would certainly have to agree. However, that being said, it does not, in and of itself, make the question regarding Bill’s role in the demise of Hillary’s campaign a bad question. I for one think he has hurt her campaign terribly and she has abetted in that hurt. Not once, to the best of my knowledge, has Hillary made clear exactly what Bill’s role will be should she with the nomination and the election. That has left many wondering if it will be a twofer with Bill trying to reprise his role as POTUS and CinC. Many [tag]progressives[/tag] remember well the hatred the right has for both Bill and Hillary, and see Bill’s deep involvement in this campaign, and Hillary’s failure to reel him in and define his role, as very troubling and potentially dangerous as a possible [tag]rallying point[/tag] for [tag]Rethuglicans[/tag] that could end up costing the Democrats the election. Anyone thinking along those lines would switch their support to Obama post haste, regardless of who they feel would be the best president, as winning the election and [tag]reclaiming the white house [/tag]is more important than who leads at this point.
