Where did the neo-conservative movement first take root? Most people would say California, Ronald Reagan’s Washington, ’s England or even Ontario premier Mike Harris’s regime. The answer, actually, is British Columbia.

We introduced in practice and gave an early hint of the movement’s rising power. Don’t take my word for it, listen to Friedman himself: He praised the B.C. premier for out-neo-conning Thatcher, no easy task.
