Saving the world one idea at a time
[tag]Daniel Burd[/tag] is a 16 year old teenager in Waterloo, Ontario with a very big future. He recently won $30,000 in the [tag]Canada-Wide Science Fair[/tag] for his Plastic Not Fantastic study where he showed how to [tag] biologically break down plastic bags[/tag] in an [tag]environmentally friendly[/tag] manner. The process can be applied at industrial scales as well. As any of you who watched the Garbage Island videos here know, plastic in general and plastic bags in particular are a deadly problem. Well done Daniel.
Also check out his other project on the [tag]hydrolysis of chicken feathers[/tag] to produce a safe protein mixture for animal feeds. Looks like he’s headed for a career in [tag]microbiology[/tag]
