Image SPAM

1 June, 2008 (16:49) | Computer

Here’s a way to deal with Image Spam if you are using Thunderbird

  1. Open Tools —> Message Filters
  2. “Create New Rule”
  3. The default in the first rule will be Subject. Click on this then at the bottom of the drop down select customize
  4. Name it “Content-Type” and hit OK
  5. Select “Content-Type”
  6. set “Contains” to “multipart/related”
  7. Click + to add a new filter to this rule
  8. Set From to “Isn’t in my address book” and select your address book. If you have more than one you will have to add a separate filter for each one
  9. In the lower half set it to “Set Junk Status” to “Junk” and then “Move Message to” your junk mail folder.

Create the same rule set for each of your email accounts.
