The Dirtiest Country In the World

20 November, 2009 (16:53) | Environment, Political

Think it;s China? Sorry, and indeed I am sorry, as it is Canada

So I see that (h/t James)then I see this crap from our neocon government

The federal environment minister says it may be a few years before Canada tables regulations to cut greenhouse gas emissions.

Jim Prentice said the world has to first negotiate a new climate change treaty and Canada and the United States must finish their continental agreement on the same issue.

“I think it’s fair to say that this all needs to knit together,” Prentice said during a teleconference call from Copenhagen.

Prentice is taking part in the last round of climate change talks before the formal United Nations conference begins next month.

He also dampened any hope an international treaty will be reached in December.

“I think even a few months ago there had been an expectation on the part of the outside world that we would arrive at a full international treaty in December in Copenhagen. That clearly is not going to happen.”

WTF makes you think we have years in which to start taking action asshole!

Oh well when we all start to broil we here in Canada can thank the Canadian Tourism Federation for their diligent forethought

(hint for the satire impaired – there is no Canadian Tourism Federation :) )

Give me a little link love would ya ;):

Hi Doug,

Hope you and family are well,

The Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction research folks have now calculated that the average earth temperature has not risen in the past decade. They are a prominent part of the “warmest” scientific community, so any bias on their part would be toward rather than away from a warming trend.

So, we have a decade of this century in which the actual data is way over to one end of the bell curve of scenario results that the research predicted in 1999.

How can you not admit the possibility that the assumptions being made about this very complex system are wrong?

yours,

doug

Doug

That is a, and there is no better word for it, lie that AGW proponents hace been trying to fix in people’s consciousness for several years now and has been repeatedly rebutted by the Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction. It took me less than 5 minutes on Google to find you some links that show this

1. Climate Central
2. The Met Office (this is Hadley)
3. Met Office Live Earth

I could go on and on and on linking you to actual climatologists who are doing the research but really Doug you need to go do your own before you make those kind of claims. Why do you think the University of East Anglia Climatic Research Unit (one of the world’s top climatology centers) email servers were just hacked (and oh ya despite the claims on Fox and other AGW sites there was nothing in those 60 odd GB of email that indicated any cover-up or anything else the AGW corporate shills, AstroTurf organizations etc are saying there is). The AGW crowd is freaked by Copenhagen, desperate to prove their paranoiac cover-up conspiracy theories, and as a result will spread even more flat out lies to stall any progress and make more profits for the petroleum industries. If the person you are getting your information from is not a climatologist, and is not one who is actively researching the problem, then your source is utterly unreliable, and yes that includes me. One last thing you would do well to pay attention to Kaitlin Alexander’s blog ClimateSight. Although she is not a climatologist (yet) her writing has attracted praise and attention from some of the world’s top climatologists.
