Not Funny
If we had any other government in place here in Canada than the neocon wannabe Harper conservatives I’d find this video hilarious. However, even though touching Medicare is basically a sudden death third rail type activity for a politician here, it is in fact exactly what Harper would like to do – completely privatize health care in Canada, despite any protestation from he and his followers to the contrary.
For my American friends the “fan” here is a well known Canadian comedian playing a character she uses here to interview politicians. Believe me when I say that most Conservative and Liberal politicians quake with fear when they get ambushed by her but the Greens and NDP etc have fun with it. The best part? It’s part of a show called This Hour Has 22 Minutes which is a CBC show so is paid for in part by the government
