Mystery writer Patricia Cornwell believes she has uncovered the true identity of Jack the Ripper and in the process she spent some 6 million dollars of her own money. While she has unearthed probably the best evidence to date it is still not conclusive. Short of finding a written confession by a credible suspect I don't think this mystery will ever be solved. Too much time has passed, all persons alive during the time of the Ripper are dead, and what evidwence that does exists has been degraded through handling and the wear of time.
